"What those later generations held against Jackson, especially his stern policy toward Indians . . ." "Stern" is hardly the word I'd use. Today we'd call it ethnic cleansing. A couple of decades ago, I was chatting at a conference with someone from the Cherokee tribe. He said some Indian activists refuse to accept $20 bills because of Old Hickory's portrait on it.

I think we can say without much discrepancy.That jackson was a racist especially to the indians. And not to excuse this policy of what he did to the Cherokee and others.Some of the indian tribes in the east within their own indian nations- nations within nations -had conspired with the spanish and jackson was widely concerned with the integrity of the united states union so much that he threatened to hang successionist in south carolina.
