Perhaps you could make the case that the impending Trump presidency is wielding more might than any other U.S. regime to-date; but the impartiality and historical attempt of this piece is failed by the bias of its ending.
Regardless, The Point of lamentation in any historical regime (and regime change) is that the plebians/proletariats/Commoners are failed in the end. More accurately, The Many fail themselves...because, at all times, there are always more of Us (The Governed) than there are of Them (Elites).
