That’s what makes history so involving when written so well. You, Bechloss, Kerns, Ambrose, etc all have that gift for elevating history beyond just dry facts. It draws the reader into a life, situation, or event that gets us thinking. Then we have the spinsters who attempt to erase or modify what the facts are for often nefarious purposes, which sucks cause we now now so many choose to believe in narratives that suit their own racial or ethnic beliefs.

Sidebar - I still don’t know why you haven’t written a fiction novel yet professor. You said one time in class you wouldn’t, but I’m sure many would find it just as highly entertaining as your books as of now.

Thanks for the encouragement, Emit. Maybe I'll give fiction another try.

Did you see the story in the NYT on the guy who read 27,000 Marvel Comics? His recipe for a good story…

Monsters👹 + Romance❤️ + Superheroes🦸‍♂️ + Topicality

A good way to think about storytelling!

The monsters and superheroes might be a stretch for history, but the general idea sounds good.
