I'm afraid I have to disagree. CRT has very little to do with Marxism. It is sociological rather than economic. Besides, there are almost no Marxists left anymore.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Ed. I think we agree on the most basic points, especially your last sentence.

I've read a bit about CRT from Delgado/Stefancic, Crenshaw, Kendi, Bell, and Diangelo. The best I can determine is that CRT provides a lens through which a different view of history can be seen; not unlike Howard Zinn's lens of "history from the loser's point of view". While those lenses are interesting and informative, the very fact that they ARE lenses is not presented by the CRT advocates. Kendi et al present their lens as THE lens; the TRUTH. Progressives have now fallen for the Kendi "truth", it seems to me.

There are the winner's (the majority's) lenses and the loser's (the minority's) lenses. If I don't study both, I cannot understand history. NYT+WSJ; WaPo+Epoch; FoxNews+CNN/MSNBC; ... All the facts can only be gathered from all the sources.

As for teaching CRT in K-12 the UT DEI statement mentions nothing about age appropriate or who is paying their salaries. They expect 1st graders to understand racism through a lens of "Jim Crow" -- which cannot be understood by 6 year old children. Arrogance is boisterous in UT's DEI "BE IT [FURTHER] RESOLVED" sections. It seems these people don't know about the 1940 UT Statement of "Academic Freedom" and/or who pays their salaries. (I'm a volunteer at UT every week on JJPickel campus. I feel honored and privileged to work for UT-Austin).

At the soul of this "crt" issue there is truth. I don't see anyone pursuing that truth, racial history including all the facts, or even fairness. What I see is agendas to achieve political power (greed in its alternate and more virulent form). Nothing I see in the "policies" of the CRT agenda folks have any possibility of helping all Americans. Any policy that helps only some people, hurts many more other people. Been there, done that.

Thank you for your informative post. I have been canceled by others. I hope you won't do the same. I disagree with some of your views but I will fight forever to defend your and other's views with whom I disagree.

CRT is basically repackaged and rephrased Marxism leading to social overthrow of free, democratic societies. Another example of elitism at work. The end game is power and control not enlightened behavior. Divide and conquer at it’s most diabolical best.
