“Look at this pine cone it is a Fibonacci sequence. So is god a mathematician?” Derek Jacobi playing Alan Turing in the 1996 BBC adaptation of the play "Breaking the Code".
Yes, He is. John 1:1-3. The Second Person of the Christian Trinity is the Logos (Λογοσ), insufficiently translated into English as "Word." But Greeks have a different word for "word," which is lexi (λεξη). Logos is a concept borrowed from Platonism and is the root of logic, biology, zoology, and all the other ologies. It means the warp and woof of the physical universe, breathed or inspired into existence by the First Person of God "through" the Second Person (Logos). The Logos, including all physical laws of this universe, underpins all of creation. "He was in the beginning with God, and all things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being..."
I wouldn’t say Christianity itself is built over platonism but that the author of John used philosophical language common among the educated Greek speakers of his audience.
Another mind-blower from HWB, Ph.D. History; M.S. Mathematics...

Thanks for that response. It is greatly appreciated. I’m not a Christianity scholar but is Christianity built over platonism? It seems to be.
