Trump cannot take us out of NATO - by law. But he can undermine our participation.

He also cannot fire Powell who will be there at the FED until his term is ended.

Ideally monetary policy should be democratically decided, but I would NOT trust the modern GOP to do that.

Trump's tariff policy isn't based on jobs- it is based on bullying like a mob boss where other nation's leaders will come crawling to him to "make a deal" and in which our own corporate CEOs bow to the fascism of bending the knee for exemptions at the whim of the autocrat

Trump's "golden age' is based on white supremacy and oligarchy.

We're not playing his game. Tomorrow, we're taking what we have out of the stock market and heading to calmer financial waters. I want to keep him as far away from our finances as possible. I've read my history and economics. There's only one direction this is all going and it's nowhere most people want to go.

Trump wants to change natural born citizenship, correct? So that wouldn't be bringing us back to the 1920s, it would be changing the Constitution.

But besides that idea, isn't he merely enforcing existing immigration law?

When Trump’s followers yearn for the 1950s, they are not longing for the “relative simplicity” of that decade. They are yearning for a time when women were confined to the home, abortion was universally regarded as a crime, Black Americans were totally segregated and regarded as laughably inferior by their fellow citizens, gays were unorganized and nearly invisible, trans people did not exist, the few immigrants came from Northern Europe, and union jobs in manufacturing were plentiful. A very high percentage of MAGA people are so happy that they don’t have to hide their racism in Trump’s America that they were willing to vote for a madman to lead our country and to proclaim him God’s gift to America. They are so happy to have him that they are willing to accept his crazy tariff campaign, which changes from day to day and minute to minute. The worst sin the media commit is “sanewashing” Trump: trying to convince their readers and viewers that Trump has any idea what he is saying and doing.
